Biography (About):
Dr. Seyed Mehdi Tavakkoli is an Associate Professor in the Civil Engineering Department at Shahrood University of Technology. He received his PhD in Structural Engineering from Iran University of Science & Technology, where his research focused on isogeometric analysis and topology optimization. His academic interests include structural shape and topology optimization, numerical methods such as the finite element method and isogeometric analysis, and advanced computational modeling. He has taught a wide range of undergraduate and postgraduate courses and was twice honored with the Best Lecturer Award. From 2019 to 2023, he served as Head of the Structural & Earthquake Engineering Division. Dr. Tavakkoli is actively involved in supervising MSc and PhD students and serves as a reviewer for several leading international journals in computational mechanics and structural engineering.
