TN326 : Stability analyzing of Gardane Rokh tunnel of Shahr-e-Kord in Isfahan and primary support system prediction

Abstarct: Along with large population and heavy traffic‚ the problem of car accidents and human death would be a major problem of recent century, Also bad climate of a place should be added to the upper mentioned problems. As a result‚ in order to the wealth and life losses of accidents‚ motor ways should be extended. Building of tunnels and bridge of roads should answer the engineering standards. In this thesis‚ primary support designing of ROKH Gardaneh tunnel were studied. This tunnel was excavated in both (Entrance and Exit) side. In the Entrance part ‚ dominant rock type is‚ massive and thick grey limestone and in Exit part there is thin laxyer of black and green marn limestone. Central part of tunnel is formed by bresh limestone and Conglomerate with lime inter laxyers. By dividing tunnel in to 13 region ( Z1 to Z13 ) and 2 sub region ( Z1-2 and Z13-2 )‚ moving of walls‚ invert and ceiling of tunnel‚ were calculated on the basis of experimental‚ analytical ( UDEC software ) methods‚ before and after of support installation . UDEC is a two dimentional analyzing program which is working on the basis of discrete element for geotechnical analyzing of discrete areas this program is modeling the response of a discrete medium (such as techtonized jointed Rocks) against the static and dynamic loads. This reason we used UDEC software for numerical analyzing. The required data in this software are: Elastic module‚ Poisson ratio‚ Friction angel‚ Compressive strength‚ GSI‚ Overburden high‚ joint characteristics and support system characteristics. By setting all these data and running the program‚ the amount of movement in ceiling‚ invent and walls of tunnel would be calculated before and after the support installation. The large movement belong to the Z5‚ Z13 and Z13-2 Zones which cause down falling of ceiling and walls .In the addition to shotcrete‚ square grid of rock bolts and steel arches are proposed for primary support system of this region .
