Abstarct: In this project modeling and control design of a full-bridge switching power supply using ZVS soft switching is presented and a method baxsed on the modified conventional isolated full-bridge converter design using ZVS soft switching is introduced. The proposed design method is baxsed on mathematical equations describing the isolated full-bridge converter circuit with ZVS soft switching. Because of the variable dead band between the switches and its importance in ZVS soft switching process, this parameter is considered as the design input, so that the design can be done correctly for each type of semiconductor switch with different dead times. To control the converter, its state space equations is written baxsed on switch PWM equivalent circuit and it has also been used in the controller design. In the closed-loop structure two types of PID controller is used, one with constant coefficients and the second with self-tuned coefficients. In order to test the proposed design method in practical work, a prototype full-bridge power supply with ZVS soft switching and all of its essentials, including output filter, control boards, electronic interface boards, CPU, sensors boards and transducers were designed and built and the proposed method was implemented on it. The results taken from rectifiers and compared with simulations. The accuracy and efficiency of the proposed method was proved.
