Abstarct: Slides are a type of mass movement that occurs under the influence of various factors on sloping ground and every year imports irreparable human and financial Damages to structures and residential areas, roads and highways, transmission lines, water and gas, forests and vegetation. In this study, landslide occurrence in Telowbin village was investigated in four stages including desk studies, site investigation, laboratory studies and stability assessment (analysis) by Slide6.20 software. To study the physical and mechanical properties of the materials which are prone to slide, laboratory tests were done on disturbed and undisturbed samples. Direct shear tests (27 specimens) and uniaxial compressive strength tests (12 specimens) were done on undisturbed samples in different moisture contents .Soil composition identification tests including particle size distribution, Atterberg limits, calcimetry, XRD and SEM were performed on disturbed samples. Finally, baxsed on the shear strength parameters including internal friction angle (Ф) and cohesion (c), and determined geometric characteristics, the stability of the studied profiles in Slide software was done in both dynamic and static methods. The results indicated that marlstone bed rock and the soils resulted by its weathering have high sensitivity to moisture content and shear strength parameters (c and Ф) showed remarkable decrease by increasing moisture content. The results of the software model indicate that the profiles of B and C are unstable in saturated moisture conditions in the static state and in the saturated and semi-saturated moisture conditions in the dynamic state. Considering that the occurrence of landslides in the village of Telowbin is due to the high sensitivity of clay bearing materials to water absorption, some remedial works which prevent from water penetration and saturation of the slope have been proposed.
