Abstarct: In most educational centers, such as universities and schools, providing timextabling is a common activity. Exams scheduling of a department in universities and educational institutes is one of the problems which programmers face it. In this thesis, two methods of solving the problem of scheduling for exams are stated. First approach is baxsed on genetic algorithm and the second one is tabu search. In both methods some solutions for improvement of these approaches are mentioned. In this thesis we have tried to decrease interference between exams and suggested the maximum time of studying for students. Programs of both methods have been written by Matlab 2010 and the numerical results of two approaches have been compared.
