Abstarct: The purpose of this study was to compare the effects of public health and private health costs on health in D8 countries. In this study, infant mortality rate is considered as an indicator of health status. Health costs are divided into public and private health costs. Public health costs include social security and insurance costs, transfers payments and internal resources, including concessional facilities. On the other hand, private health expenses include out-of-pocket expenses and private insurance. Each of these has different effects on health. In order to estimate the econometric model, the root unit test, Dickey Fuller, Levin-Cho, Fisher and Phillips-Prone tests were first used, and the panel cointegration test was used for Pedroni cointegration test, and for the diagnostic tests, the Hassman and Lemmer tests were used. The results showed that public health expenditures and private health expenditures had a negative significant relationship with infant mortality but the effect of public health expenditures was more. baxsed on the findings of the model, increasing health spending in the both of private and public sectors reduces morbidity and mortality and improves community health. By comparing public and private sector health expenditures, it can be seen that the impact of public sector health spending on mortality is greater than that of the private sector.
