Abstarct: In the recent decade the booming growth of the startups has made it a fruitful topic to study. In this research we sought to discover the critical success factor of nascent entrepreneurs in Mashhad's startup eco-system. The study revolves around Watson's frxamework and analyses the importance of the elements of the frxamework in the success or the failure of the startup. We used confirmatory factor analysis combined with Friedman Test to evaluate and rank the elements. The findings revealed that the characteristic of the entrepreneur is of utmost importance in determining the success or failure of the stratup. And, contrary to expectations, the the role of the agencies is minimal in this respect.
