Abstarct: Solid oxide fuel cells (SOFC) are electrochemical devices that convert chemical to electrical energy. High temperature sealant materials are critical component in SOFC. The sealant material prevents the mixing of fuel and air in a SOFC systems. One the most important sealing material are glass ceramic material. In this research the glass-ceramic composite sealant was studied at first, the BaO-CaO-Al2O3-SiO2 (BCAS) was prepared. The glass fiber/BCAS and mica/BCAS composite were prepared by solid-state mixing method. The microstructure and phase content of the samples were studied SEM and XRD methods respectively. The mechanical properties of composite sealant material were investigated by hardness, compression and nano indentation methods. The thermal properties were measured by dilatometry experiment. The electrical properties of the sealant material were studied by EIS method, and performance of the components were evaluated under SOFC condition. The leak test of the sealant material was tested. The Results showed that the composite sealants showe improved desired mechanical properties with proper electrical and sealing performance. It was shown that thoughness of glass-30%wt fiber glass composite was 2.090 MPa√m.
