Abstarct: It is necessary to build underground spaces with different purposes Due to the growing of cities and space limitation for construction. It is clear that Tunnels have great importance among underground spaces because of their applications in urban area. Using TBM machines is the quick, safe and inexpensive way to drill a tunnel in comparison with other methods. Choosing a mechanized drilling machine in accordance with different conditions of a project is one of the most important stages in drilling a tunnel. It is possible to achieve a better drilling process, save time and reduce project costs by choosing correct TBM. Then choosing machine is one of the most important challenges associated with drilling a tunnel. The earth pressure balance, Slurry ad mix-shield machines have been selected as three suitable TBM for Tunneling in soft ground according to similar projects and related recommendations. The matching of experience with science is one of the best methods for choosing TBMs. In this research, the factors influencing the choice of TBM machine using the common standards in this field as well as projects carried out in Iran, geotechnical, geological, environmental, manpower and cost criteria have been selected as the main criteria. In order to use the expert’s opinions in tunneling, a questionnaire baxsed on the method of analyzing the hierarchical Delphi fuzzy method has been developed as a common method of multi-criteria decision making. The dates collected from this questionnaire was used to formulate a paired matrix as well as weight to selected criteria. Also, for creating a paired comparison matrix between the maintained machines, the weight of each machine is determined by matching the usage of each machine in the data range of the study case. baxsed on the results, EPB machine is proposed for drilling on the north-south subway line 7 of Tehran Metro.
