TN74 : Processing of CHAH-E-NO Silica mine’s Ore for Industrial uses by Application of Experimental Design

Abstarct: Silica is one of the most important minerals that is used in different applications and industries and this makes it to be a strategic mineral.
Concerning the application of silica in each industry, the impurities should be removed or decreased from the mineral.
Chah-E-No silica mine is located in ٩٠ km from shahrood city in Semnan province. In this research we tried to do a complete study to know the ore specification and to find how to remove the impurities and gain products useable in different industries.
So, after investigations all of the standards for using silica in industries were gathered. Also, the best methods for removing impurities from the ore were obtained from last studies.
Desliming, flotation tests, magnet separation methods were applied for this goal. To have the best results and decrease the tests quantities, Taguchi method was used for flotation tests design.
Finally, the products were analyzed and a comparison between standards and the best products was done to find the existing potentials for applying this ore.
