Abstarct: Determination of permeability from Stoneley waves is one of the continuous measurement methods all along the borehole without using experimental coefficients. Considering to the ability of DSI tools in high quality measurement of Stoneley waves, the goal of this study is estimating permeability using the Stoneley slowness and also finding a mathematical relation between the permeability and Stoneley slowness to estimate a continuous permeability log. In this study for calculating permeability in carbonate reservoir of Darkhovin oil field, Stoneley waves that measured by DSI tools and MDT data for calibrating the Stoneley waves with permeability are used.. First the petrophysical analysis is done. Then the Stoneley slowness in rock matrix by using mathematical relations and cross plotting Stoneley slowness versus porosity in nonpermeable zone, is determined. Before determining permeability, it is necessary to calculate the accordance factor between Stoneley slowness and permeability. After that, permeability is determined by using two methods. In first method, the concept of flow unit is used and in second method permeability is determined by using the mathematical relations between permeability, Stoneley slowness and porosity. baxsed on the results of the two methods, the second one is better.
Since the cementation factor is influenced by degree of heterogeneity, the large variation in matrix, texture and pore geometry, it does not have fixed value in carbonate rocks and should be determined with high accuracy. In this study the cementation factor as a continuous log is calculated by using Fock and Mann, Regland and Lucia relations and the results are compared. Among these methods, Lucia method’s has more similarities with the core results. So by modifying this method, a new equation is developed to calculate the cementation factor in carbonate reservoirs The results of the equation core’s analysis have a good fitness. In addition the cementation exponent is determined by using density log and a good fitness with core’s analysis is observed.
