Abstarct: Nowadays in big cities, subways and urban tunnels are considered as one of most important substructures of urban transportation network. The more crowded the urban environment and limited the surface space, the more required the need to make substructure constructions such as tunnels to secure. Since new tunnel projects should be constructed beneath urban crowded areas, construction and implementation of these underground systems may cause damages to installations and surface and subsurface constructions. The main purpose of this research is numerical modeling of settlement of buildings above Tabriz subway line 1 due to full face excavation by EPB machine. To do so, at first, results from monitoring of buildings located between stations 11 and 12 of Tabriz subway line 1 that had been done by survey …., were categorized and final displacement of buildings were achieved. Buildings of this area have been classified by use of Rankin vulnerability index and final monitoring results and it was shown that buildings No. 3, 4, 5, 6, 20, 21, 22, 23, 32, 33, 34, 40, 41, 42, 43 are subject to more damages rather than other buildings. To research more, 3dimensional numerical modeling by Plaxis 3D Tunnel software has been used to study these critical sections. For precise determination of buildings settlement curves, sensitivity analysis has been done in longitudinal strike of model and according to the results of sensitivity analysis, it was determined that settlements reach to static mode in distance of 3D from start and end of building to model boundary. Then by use of this optimized model, ground surface and buildings settlement in 7 phase when crossing of excavation machine under or beside the building and 1 final phase when the last segment installed in distance of 3D from end of the building has been evaluated and finally results from numerical modeling and real results have been compared. This comparison show that values from numerical modeling located in range of monitoring results of buildings. Also influence range of tunnel excavation in all sections in cross sectional strike is to 40 meters from main tunnel axis and the more far the buildings from tunnel center axis, the less effective from different stages of tunneling.
