Abstarct: Accordingly, considering the growth of industrial production, it seems the copper industry can play a significant role in the country’s economic development and become one of the major sources of foreign exchange earnings. Despite the considerable share of this industry in the national economy and in the export of the mextal products, the copper industry is influenced by the country’s macroeconomic policies and environmental factors, which have affected its competitiveness indices and the growth of its economic enterprises. Therefore, analyzing the factors affecting the economic activities of the upstream, midstream, and downstream copper industries, identifying the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats of this industry, and selecting properly strategies are among the important activities placed on the agenda of economic associations. Regarding the numerous shortcomings, preparing a strategic model is necessary in the field of copper industry. In this research, the current status of the country’s copper industry has been reviewed and baxsed on the findings, future-oriented studies have been conducted and a comprehensive document has been prepared. Accordingly, existing and developmental documents of the copper industry, particularly those included in the Seventh Development program of Iran (I.R.), were first subjected to analytical and comparative evaluation. Finally, baxsed on existing capacities, the developmental strategies of the country’s copper industry were formulated and analyzed in two short-term and medium-term horizons.
