Abstarct: Designing proper drilling and blasting patterns in mines reduces blasting costs and operational problems in the next stages of extraction. Because in most of the world's mines, drilling and blasting patterns are obtained by using experimental relationships and trial and error. Considering the importance of the inherent conditions of the rock mass in blasting operations, methods baxsed on the rock mass such as explosiveness can be used to avoid the problems caused by experimental methods such as wasting time and money in trial and error of different patterns. In this research, the classification of the Songun copper mine has been done using the explosion capability method and baxsed on the relationships provided by Lilly. First, the relevant parameters were collected and calculated by using field and laboratory studies, in such a way, joint surveying operations were carried out in 23 stations of the mine using forms and information such as Rock Mass Descxription (RMD), Joint Plane Spacing (JPS), Joint Plane Orientation (JPO) in the first step is recorded. Samples were collected from all 23 stations, and information such as density and hardness, as well as Schmidt's hammer test were performed on the samples. Then, using these parameters for different parts of the mine, blast ability, and specific charge were calculated, and using that, a suitable pattern was designed for each area. The designed patterns were compared with conventional patterns in terms of design parameters, and the results showed that the parameters related to the pattern, such as rock load, spacing, mud laying, and additional excavation, have undergone changes, and these changes are incremental in most areas. about special charges, it was observed that the special charge used in some areas of the mine has a big difference compared to the calculated special charge. To evaluate these changes, explosions were carried out in the mine along with all the parameters related to the design recorded, and 2 explosions with the suggested patterns were carried out in the mine. The results showed that in the blasting with the conventional pattern in the mine, there are problems such as the inhomogeneity of the fragmentation and the existence of pieces with large dimensions compared to the rock-breaking capacity of the mine, which are improved in the proposed pattern
