Abstarct: Due to the development of underground structures and tunnels with the use of transportation or water transfer and seismicity in different parts of the country, the possibility of tunnels colliding with faults is inevitable. Also, since tunnels have a higher degree of safety against earthquakes than surface structures, however, low levels of damage can affect their performance. Some recent earthquakes, such as Kobe, Chichi, and Niigata, have shown that these structures are always at risk from earthquakes due to the extensive damage to the tunnels. These seismic damages also showed that most of the tunnels were built in the vicinity of the fault. Earth movements near the fault include dynamic displacement due to the passage of seismic waves and permanent displacement due to a static slip. In the present study, the deformation and internal forces of the concrete cover, under two effects of near-fault earthquake, including permanent displacement due to fault slip and near-fault dynamic movements due to rupture orientation effects, were studied numerically in two separate states with common function. Due to the permanent slip of the fault, the results show that at the intersection of the fault with the upper back and lower back can challenge the maintenance system and cause disruption. baxsed on the results obtained from the effect of initial seismic excitation and subsequent permanent displacements due to fault slip, in both cases by examining the load and concrete cover capacity, it can be concluded that the fault and waist collision site is the weakest possible. Therefore, special attention should be paid to this issue in the designs.
