Abstarct: Squirrel cage induction motors are the oldest and most common motors used in various industries. But for some reason they may have a lot of acoustic noise and vibration. the amount of noise and vibration of induction motors is strongly dependent on the parameter of electromagnetic radial forces. The radial electromagnetic force distribution along the airgap, which act on the stator and rotor structures is the main source of vibration and acoustic noise. The designer of induction motors can observe the rate of acceleration, velocity or particle displacement of the electric motor structure in response to radial electromagnetic forces using modeling in finite element software and, if necessary, optimize the design and reduce radial forces. In this Thesis, the amount of vibrations and acoustic noise of three similar induction motors by the different coil pitch factor, are modeled by finite element method. The performance of the three motors is investigated by carrying out electromagnetic, structural and frequency analysis by using finite element method and the vibration and sound pressure level of the motors are calculated. The results of FEM analysis are compared by measuring the amount of noise and their actual vibrations in the laboratory testing process.
