Abstarct: We know that each Unit has an small motor called the Turning Gear that its duty is turning the shaft slowly for a period of time to avoid shaft distortion. Now suppose that this motor was damaged due to important reasons such as the economic reason cannot be provided a similar case for the unit. As a result, we should think about other methods to turn the unit slowly. This thesis after introducing the problem, try to fix it. That is at first the Unit is simulated in the finite element environment and then the operational inductances of the machine is achieved and the results will be validated. After that it has been suggested that the important task of Turning Gear can be replaced by power converters. For this purpose, in chapter six is spoken briefly about two converters names inverters and cycloconverters. Finally, in chapter seven it is evaluated the operation of the motor at different frequencies and voltages and interesting results have been obtained
