Abstarct: Hybrid vehicles are a combination of an internal combustion engine and an electric motor, which are a suitable alternative to internal combustion vehicles due to their numerous advantages. Hybrid vehicles include various models, one of which is a mild hybrid. In internal combustion vehicles, two electric motors are used as starters and alternators, but in mild hybrid vehicles, these two electric motors are converted into one electric motor that performs the function of starter and alternator and is known as a starter generator. This electric motor can have various structures such as induction electric machine, permanent magnet synchronous electric machine, and switched reluctance electric machine. This thesis has examined the induction machine in terms of its advantages and superiority over other electric machines. The structure of the induction machine in the position of starter generator has been examined in terms of connection to the internal combustion engine, diameter of the electric machine, active magnetic area, number of stator and rotor slots, type of stator winding, stator and rotor core, and current characteristics. These cases have been fully designed and simulated in finite element software, and with changes in each of the characteristics discussed in the induction machine, the best design has been selected for the position of the starter generator. The results of the induction machine's output torque, which is required in the motor, generator, and starter modes, have been examined, and the current intensity and magnetic saturation have also been examined to meet the needs of the internal combustion engine in different modes.
