Abstarct: Nowadays, the use of cement in construction industry has increased significantly, in different areas such as construction of roads, buildings, bridges, harbors, silos, etc. Thus, currently cement consumption rate is known as one of the worldwide development indicators of societies especially amongst developing countries. The aim of this project is to introduce a methodology for application of first and second laws of thermodynamics in analysis of a cement factory. In this thesis, after initial presentation of basics and underlying principles of the proposed methodology, a scheme of production of clixnker in a cement factory will be introduced, and baxsed on the aforementioned underlying principles we will analyze energy and exergy factors of each and every equipment in that factory. Using this analysis, efficiency of first and second laws of thermodynamics in every equipment will be obtained which will lead to calculation of cumulative energy and exergy efficiency of the factory. Next, a sensitivity analysis in equipments of the factory will be conducted and sensitive energy and exergy parameters of each equipment will be obtained. In the end, we have tried to evaluate the evolution and improvement rate of technologies related to cement use in construction industry using energy and exergy analysis with a focus on heat recovery systems.
