Abstarct: Due to the high energy consumption in the educational building, an investigation on energy consumption of Shahrood University of technology accomplished. In addition to building energy audits, management strategies have been proposed to reduce energy consumption. This study examines the energy carrier’s consumption for lighting; heating, cooking and electrical applications have been used in Shahrood University of technology. The carriers used in the university are electricity, natural gas and gasoline, electricity and natural gas are used for consumption above and gasoline is used in the vehicles. Data about Electrical and heating energy consumption of buildings is calculates by visiting faculties, buildings, pathways, powerhouses in each part and data that picked up from steam boiler, heating area of each building and the hours of using. After collecting all the required data about university buildings like energy consumption over a period of one year (October 2011-2012), supplies energy consumer and energy of individual building, the trend in overall energy consumption in university was examined. The method of CIBSE is applied to determine energy labeling and energy performance of buildings. After determination the energy consumption of the university, modification guidelines for decreasing of consumption and increasing efficiency that lead to decrease energy costs are presented.
