A large number of tall buildings in the world include several separated blocks with common podiums. In these buildings, due to the specific configuration, there is a possibility of significant damage in the earthquake due to the shear reversal effect. In this study, in order to assess the seismicity of high-rise buildings with common podium and take into account the shear reversal effect, nonlinear dynamic analysis of Time History was performed using the Endurance time method on a 40-story Twin Towers coupled together. The structural system of this towers is a special bending frxame and Coupled Reinforced concrete Shear walls, and the basic modeling and design of the structure was done in ETABS software. Then, in order to model more accurately, nonlinear specifications of structural materials and elements for dynamic analysis of Time History, PERFORM software was used. Also to assess the shear reversal effect, the diaphragm of the podium stories and the stories on which the upper shear walls are finished were modeled according to the LATBSDC 2023 procedure in a semi-rigid manner with the Upper and Lower Bound of the diaphragm stiffness. baxsed on the results of nonlinear dynamic analysis and calculation of engineering demand parameters and drawing fragility Curves, it was observed that the analysis of the Stiffness sensitivity of the diaphragm of the tower floors baxsed on the new seismic procedures of tall buildings led to a change in the seismic performance of such buildings and should be considered in the design.
