The production of industrial wastewater with various known and unknown compounds is one of the major environmental challenges of human societies that always threatens the health of society; The purpose of this research was to use micro-nanobubble technology to improve the performance of industrial wastewater treatment systems in Abbas Abad Industrial Town. Therefore, since a large part of wastewater pollutants are decomposed and destroyed in the aerobic oxidation stage and a significant part of the treatment plant's electrical energy is also consumed in this stage, the importance of improving the efficiency of the aerobic oxidation process for industrial wastewater treatment is essential. As a result, considering all these cases, it is necessary to use new and environmentally friendly technologies to increase the efficiency of wastewater treatment systems and also reduce energy consumption. In this research, after installing a micro-nanobubble generator in the treatment plant of Abbas Abad Industrial Town and conducting experiments in three stages and three different time periods, a comparison was made between aeration by a micro-nanobubble generator and aeration of the existing system. Also, in these experiments, considering the available facilities, a comparison was made between the COD reduction rate in the two modes of suspended growth and the attached growth method, as well as the effect of temperature on the COD parameter reduction rate and the effect of pH on the reduction of chemical oxygen demand in the suspended growth method, and a comparison of the electrical energy consumed in the wastewater treatment system using micronano bubble technology and conventional aeration in the existing system. The findings of this study show that using this technology, with an 87% reduction in the COD parameter in the 48-hour retention time, it has been reduced from 1435 mg/li to 190 mg/li, which in the attached growth system has achieved an efficiency of 90%. Finally, the results indicate that the micronano bubble technology has a very high potential for reducing the COD parameter in wastewater treatment systems of industrial towns using the suspended growth and attached growth activated sludge methods, which also reduces operating costs and is an environmentally friendly method in wastewater treatment systems.
