Abstarct: In recent years, the effect of long-period earthquakes on structures, especially high-rise structures, has received the attention of researchers due to the effects of higher modes. As the height of the building increases, the period of the structure increases, and when an earthquake with a long period occurs, it can easily cause serious damage and intensifying effects on structures with high periods. Due to the importance of the issue, it is necessary to make a detailed assessment before the occurrence of such phenomena and to calculate their vulnerability by performing various analyses. An existing high-rise building example with the number of floors of 35 floors in the area with high relative risk and type III soil with a special reinforced concrete frxame-core system designed baxsed on the standard 2800 fourth edition and ACI2014 is completed in ETABS V21 3D modeling software. baxsed on TBI 2017 and LATBSDC 2020 guidelines, nonlinear dynamic analysis is performed and performance method acceptance criteria, which are sometimes newer criteria compared to ASCE 41-17, are reviewed. Like the strain measure in concrete. In addition, to investigate the effect of long period earthquakes, the analyzes will be done differently for two groups of short and long period records. baxsed on the results reviewed in the fourth chapter of this study, the modeled 35-story building is more vulnerable to long-period earthquakes than short-period earthquakes. It was also found that high-rise reinforced concrete buildings with a special dual structural system, which are designed according to the methods of the 2800 standard, do not meet the performance-baxsed design requirements. It seems that in the new edition of the 2800 standard, the design of tall structures should be baxsed on performance in order to improve the performance of these buildings during earthquakes.
