Abstarct: Abstract This research was conducted in order to seismic hazard assessment and estimate the seismicity parameters in order to achieve a uniform hazard spectrum in the area of Mashhad city. Mashhad, as one of the metropolises of the country, was built in the vicinity of several important seismic faults and has been destroyed many times throughout history in connection with the activity of these faults. For this reason, it is necessary to carry out serious and continuous seismic hazard assessment studies in this region. Mashhad is located in the Benalud zone and the faults around it have caused major earthquakes in the past. Tos fault with 86 km long, in a uniform north-west-south-east direction in the eastern part of Mashhad, is the closest seismic source to this city at a distance of 13 km. The earthquake of April 5, 2017 with a magnitude of Ms 6.1 in Mashhad occurred in connection with the movements of this fault. In order to estimate the maximum values of the peak ground accelerations, the probabilistic approach was used. baxsed on this study and taking into account the return period for seismic design levels MCL, MDL, DBL using attenuation equations, the maximum values of the acceleration (horizontal component) as well as the uniform hazard spectrum have been calculated in the center of the 17 urban areas of Mashhad. Due to the lack of geotechnical information about the nature of the foundation, it is assumed that the entire metropolis is built on type I soil. The results of these investigations were presented in spectral acceleration graphs as well as acceleration return period. The maximum values of acceleration in the return periods of 475, 975 and 2475 years for the area of Imam Reza (AS) shrine are estimated to be 0.27, 0.38 and 0.49 g, respectively, and it shows a very good agreement with the regulations and seismic standards in this area.
