Abstarct: The presence of water in the production and operation process of hot asphalt pavement makes problem and may cause either the loss of the adhesion between bitumen and aggregates or loosening it. This damage, which would cause the removal of the asphalt surface materials, is known as stripping. In the present study, the samples containing zero, 12.5 %, 25 %, and 50 % by weight of coal-waste filler instead of limestone powder are constructed and their performance are evaluated. Some tests including modified Lottman (AASHTO T283), Marshal Stability (ASTM D1075) and boiling water tests (ASTM D3625) are used in order to determine the resistance of the mixtures against moisture and stripping. The results showed that the ratio of compression and tensile strength of samples enhanced by increasing the percentage of coal powder. In addition, increasing the percentage of coal in boiling water test improved the adhesion between the bitumen and aggregates.
