Abstarct: During the period 1970 to the present, researchers have tried to provide the appropriate equations of seabed shape changes under equilibrium beach profile. These equations determine the important parameters for the design of coastal structures and ports have many mistakes, that this caused the higher risk of design. Also, Bruun has presented his theory under the tixtle of Bruun Rule for shoreline change prediction. Rosati and Dean applied landward transport to the Bruun Rule for improvement of its prediction that achieved the most favorable results.
This research tried to preset the most accurate equilibrium beach profile equations for some important Iranian beaches located on the southern coasts of the Caspian Sea. This leads to future improves in design of port facilities and structures by minimizing the probable errors and risks due to more accurate equilibrium beach profiles. Also, the Bruun Rule and modified Bruun Rule extended for landward transport investigated in order to shoreline change prediction due to the effect of water level fluctuations for the Caspian Sea and shoreline change prediction optimized by applying a correction factor in the Rosati and Dean Equation that is related to mean wave height and the average particle size of bed.
