Abstarct: There are many factors involved in production cost of concrete structures. One of the most important factors is concrete curing. It has significant effect on strength and durability of the concert. Generally curing is the procedures used for promoting the hydration of cement through the temperature control and moisture movement between out and inside concrete. One new method in concrete curing is called internal curing. Unlike conventional curing ,in internal curing the needful water for hydration is provided by excess water is kept cement paste. The excess water is stored in particles made of superabsorbent polymers(SAPs) and is gradually released for cement hydration. In the research, the effect of internal curing of concrete on its workability and strength is studied. In site concrete, active curing is stopped before hydration is completed. Studding effect of super absorbent polymers on mechanical properties of site concert is the main target of the research. The other targets of this reset is obtaining thee optimum mix design for construction materials and polymers available in IRAN. A series of laboratory work is carried out for simulating the site concrete condition. In the first phase, a complete study on available superabsorbent polymers is done. In the second phase on the properties of internally cured concrete i.e. workability and compressive strength was investigated. The results show that internal of curing by using SAPs cam keep the concrete quality while avoiding unreadable and costly conventional curing.
