Abstarct: Deep beams are one of the important member in concrete structures. In this member due to low shear span to depth ratio, loads transfer to the support by truss mechanism. Failure of these beams is shear failure along with formation of diagonal cracks. Due to architectural requirements and a change in building’s function, presence of openings is unavoidable that cause significant reduction in capacity of these member. Therefore using the fiber reinforced polymer (FRP) for retrofitting beams and change in position as well as dimension of the openings caused increasing capacity. Due to very few researches has been done in this area and there is no clear and acceptable equation for design of these members, more research seems to be necessary. In this thesis three dimensional model of reinforced concrete deep beams with web openings strengthened with FRP integrated in ABAQUS finite element software. Modeling of concrete elements using the plastic – damage model, modeling of steel reinforcement using the classic plastic theory and modeling of FRP as none – isotropic done. Comparing the results of numerical analysis with the result of experimental shows validity of results and method of modeling. As well as with determined analysis influence of factor including the amount of fiber FRP, size, position and shape of opening have been studied. Studies have shown that out of shear span with considering the required dimension and strengthen with FRP is the best position for openings.
