Abstarct: Abstract Climate change has posed serious challenges to the sustainability of agricultural production in arid and semi-arid regions such as the Shahroud plain. This research was conducted with the aim of analyzing the trends of temperature, precipitation, and wind speed changes in Shahroud and investigating the impact of these changes on the suitable corn planting date. For this purpose, meteorological data for a 20-year period (2000-2019) was used. The trend of changes in these parameters was analyzed using statistical tests. Furthermore, an application was developed in the Visual Basic for Application programming language to determine the corn planting date. The results indicated that for most months of the year, including January, February, March, April, August, September, October, November, and December, no significant trend was observed. However, a significant decrease in wind speed was recorded in May, and a significant and consistent increase was recorded in June and July. Despite monthly fluctuations in precipitation, the analyses showed that the average annual precipitation during the 2000-2019 period had a significant decreasing trend. Although precipitation changes in some months (including April, June, July, August, and October) were not statistically significant, a significant decrease in precipitation was recorded in February, March, May, September, and November. While the average annual temperature did not show a significant change during the study period, monthly fluctuations indicated different patterns. Specifically, a significant temperature increase was observed in June and July, and a significant decrease was observed in February, April, August, October, and November. Examining the trend of changes in the corn planting date from 2000 to 2019 showed that this variable lacked a significant trend. Although a slight tendency towards earlier planting was observed in some years, this change was not statistically significant and therefore cannot be considered a definitive trend. It was found about 0.15 day per year decrease in span of growth and development for corn.
