Abstarct: Industrial activities during recent decades, has led to the leakage(permeation)of heavy mextals such as chromium(Cr),Cadmium(cd),Copper, lead(Pb),Zn into the environment and ecosystem and threatened the life of organisms. These mextals can not be easily decomposed through biological process and are hazardous in low concentrations.Furthurmore, burning post harvest agricultural waste has caused the diffusion of greenhouse gases in the atmosphere which are harmful to the ozone laxyer. The adsorption phenmenon using biochar which is an active carbon,is one of the methods used to remove heavy mextals from the environment Wide range of natural materials and synthetics are to absorb heavy mextals. the extracted carbon from agricultural waste one of these methods .Due to the difficulties the pollution of burning agricultural waste in our country, this study intends to convert agricultural waste into biochar and its potential as anabsorbant of heavy mextals in aquatic environment.the agricultural wastes include rice barn(Br),bagasse(Bb) and jujube(Bj) which were converted into biochar in he oven at 250 and 500 centigrades.Afterwards, properties such as pH were measured for both synthetic biochars and their waste. Then by considering the result of adsorption of Chromium,Cadmium, and lead(Pb), (Consentration 0,10,20,50,100 mgr/lit)eventually various characteristics which have effects on adsorption including (PH (6.2,7.2,8.2) chromium(0,10,25,50,100 mgr/lit )Cadmium(0,10,20,50,100 mgr/lit)in solution and mixing time(30,60,120 minutes)were measured and the adsorption test were implemented on Chromium(Cr),Cadmium(Cd) and Lead (Pb).The results show that the carbon fixation increases by increasing the temperature.studying various factors and properties indicate that three types of biochar show significant cadmium adsorption in different temperatures and in a 60 minute optimal period and after that Pb show acceptable adsorption. Therefore, biochar from agricultural waste has a significant potential in removing heavy mextals such as chromium, cadmium, and lead from aquatic environment and ecosystems.
