Abstarct: A field experiment was conducted to investigate the effect of limited irrigation on soybean growth, yield and yield components. The experimant was as complete block design with three replication and carried out during summer of 2007 in aliabad, golestan province. The treatment was eight different time of imposing to drought. The results revealed that water limitation significantly reduced plant height, number of flowers, pods and seeds. The length of reproductive stages appeared to be shortened with increasing the intensity of the stress. The decline was also true for leaf area index, shoot dry weight, yield and yield components. Seed weight was the most important yield components as compared to the other components and had more participation for increasing the yield.Drought stress had most effect on yield in stages R6,R4 and R7 respectivly. Also,Protein an oil content of soybean seeds nagatively was influenced by water stress
