Abstarct: One of the most important issues in the river engineering studies is the estimation of water depth, discharge and other characteristics of unstable flow in the key areas of natural rivers which is called “Flood Routing”. Indeed in the flood routing the hydrograph caused by flooding in lower part of the river by using obvious hydrograph of upper part is extracted. Methods of flood routing include two main groups of hydrologic and hydraulic methods. Due to significance of this issue, Muskingum method and dynamic wave method were applied in this research, which the first method is a hydrological and the second one is a hydraulical method of flood routing. The study area of this research is a reach of Bazoft River, where is located in north and North west of Chaharmahal-o-Bakhtiari province. Approximately, 47 km length of this river considered for flood routing. For execute the Muskingum method, a computer program in excel using Microsoft technique was prepared and for dynamic wave method two models of MIKE11 and HEC-RAS were used. To compare the results, the statistical parameters namely R2 and RMSE, the peak mistakes percent, proportional mistake percent and etc were used. Results show that dynamic wave method of MIKE11 had the most accuracy and Muskingum and dynamic wave HEC-RAS were located in second and third places. Of course, in many cases Muskingums results were almost the same as MIKE11. After analyzing the abundance of flooding in considering span, the width of flooding will be considered by using Hydraulical model HEC-RAS and by using appendix of HEC-GeoRAS in ArcGis Environment. Also the maps and the shapes obtained from the hydraulic study, in addition to introduce the floodgate zone can be used as a useful instrument to control and manage the territories and to develop plans and manage the rivers in case of flooding and environmental protection.
