S190 : The effect of seed pre-treatment and foliar application of Thymus kotschyanus extract on some growth and physiological traits in vigna sinensis L.

Abstarct: According to antioxidant property of materials in the Thymus kotschyanus it can be inferred that by applying extracts of the plant onto crop plants acquired a positive impact on germination and growth of them. For this order experiment was conducted on Vigna sinensis of Shahrood University in 2013. Treatments were include seed pre-treatment with T.kotschyanus extract in the five levels (lack of seed pre-treatment, seed pre-treatment with 10% thymus extract for 10 and 20 hours and seed pre-treatment with 20% thymus extract for 10 and 20 hours) as the first factor and foliar application of T.kotschyanus extract at the three levels (foliar application with water, foliar application with 10% extract and foliar application with 20% T.kotschyanus extract) as the second factor the experimental design was factoriel on the basis of randomized complete blocks with three replications. seed pre-treatment was conducted before planting and foliar application was conducted at one stage approximately 30 days after planting. The results showed seed pre-treatment with T.kotschyanus extract increased morphological and physiological most of the trait such as dry weight of leaves, petioles, stems, stem diameter, leaf area index, number of pods per plant, leaf relative water content and seeds protein. Also increase the duration of pre-treatment normally results in an increase in traits the investigated. So that corrosion soaked the seeds for 20 hours rather than 10 hours as well as lack of seed priming created highest measurement in many of traits. foliar application of T.kotschyanus extract increased in most the traits such as pod dry weight, stem diameter, number of branches, number of secondary branches, leaf area index, leaf plasma membrane stability and seed protein. The treatment combination of obtained from seed pre-treatment and foliar application of T.kotschyanus extract, foliar application with 10% T.kotschyanus extract along with seed pre-treatment with 10% and 20% thymus extract for 20 hours was able the most influential treatment combination to increase the most of the traits measured.
