Abstarct: This study was conducted in a field experiment, conducted in research fram of cooperative society of city biarjomand(55'48" N, 36'50" E), Semnan, Iran to quantify the phonological and remobilization response of cultivars Biarjomand and Mashhad of cowpea(Vigna sinencise) to temperature and photoperiod. Six sowing dates [9 May (Optimum), 25 May, 7 June, 24 June, 8 July and 4 August) were selected to create different temperature and photoperiod regimes. The main plots in split plot experiment, baxsed on complete block design with three replications, were devoted to sowing dates.
The data regarding no. of days to emergence and to flowering were recorded and ananlyzed. Among various functions used in this stady Betta function, and Betta Exponentive functions, and simple linear function in the cultivars Biarjomand and Mashhad appeared to be appropriate to describe change in emergence and in flowering and per remobilization, respectively. The predicted baxse and optimum temperatures by Betta function for emergence were 8/32 and 24/48 oC in CV. Biarjomand and 7/09 and 24/65 oC in CV. Mashhad, respectively. The baxse and optimum temperatures for flowering tended to be 11/39 and 22/44 in CV. Biarjomand and 9/37 and 21/84 oC in CV. Mashhad, respectively. The ceiling temperature was considered to be constant(45 oC). The estimated critical photoperiod and photoperiod sensitivity coefficient were 14/44h and -0/94 in CV. Biarjomand and 14/61h and 0/50 in CV. Mashhad, respectively.
The results indicated that remobilization for CV. Biarjomand tends to decrease by about 8/8% per one hour increase in day length. For CV. Mashhad, it found no significant change in remobilization with changing day length. This was also true for temperature. The decreasing response of remobilization of CV. Biarjomand to temperature was equal to 2/57% per oC.
