Abstarct: Dehgolan plain is located 45 km east of Sanandaj, which is the largest plain of Kurdistan province. The purpose of this research is to evaluate the quality and quantity of groundwater resources in Dehgolan plain. According to the equipotential map, the general trend of groundwater flow is from the southwest to the northeast of the plain. In general, baxsed on the 33-year piezometric data (1366-1399), the rate of decline is about 0.87 m/year. By comparing the different equipotential maps in times, it is clear that a cone of depression has been formed due to the increasing groundwater extraction. The electrical conductivity of the plain is low and varies between 300 and 1000 μS/cm. The dominant water type of the groundwater in Dehgolan plain is HCO3-Ca. The samples are under-saturated with gypsum, and halite. There is a direct relationship between the all ions concentration except potassium with electrical conductivity in the studied area. The dominant process in the studied area is the dissolution of carbonates along with the partial occurrence of direct cation exchange. According to the classification of WQI index, all samples have a quality index value of less than 50, indicating suitability for drinking purposes. The maximum and average nitrate concentration in the sampling wells is 43 and 17 mg/L, respectively, which is lower than the standard of the World Health Organization.
