Abstarct: Perform pumping test by conventional methods (i.e. use of pumping wells and piezometric wells around it) requires a very high cost. Therefore, in different plains such tests have been limitedly carried out. On the other hand, analyzing pumping test data requires experienced people and their uncertainty is also high. Due to the fact that a high number of wells have been drilled in the plains to extract groundwater, so it is possible to use these wells and provide a suitable method to estimate the hydrodynamic parameters of the aquifer. To obtain the aquifer hydrodynamic coefficients, single-well test which has been raised internationally in recent years is the best idea among the simplest, least expensive and reliable methods. In single-well pumping test method exploitation wells, which have been in all plains will be used for estimating the aquifer hydrodynamic parameters that costs very little.
In order to estimate the specific yield values using single well system, data of 9 pumping wells in Semnan, Eavanekay and Garmsar plains have been used. First, the necessary corrections are made to the pumping test data and then the data have been analyzed by the aquifer Win32 software and the values of specific yield and Transmissivity have been determined. Studies have been shown that the values of specific yield obtained using drilling logs of pumping wells and parameter extracted from pumping test data show a linear relationship with very good correlation. Thus, the equations Sy = 0.5227 x + 0.0221 between that the values of specific yield obtained using drilling logs of pumping wells (Sy) with the parameter extracted from the pumping test data (x) is obtained. The value of x is determined as x = Q / (α. Aq. Loss + β) in which Q is the pumping flow rate in cubic meters per second, x is the parameter extracted from the pumping test data, and α and β are the experimental coefficients, which are obtained as 0.05 and 0.25, respectively, Aq. loss is the amount of aquifer loss in meters. Therefore, specific yield values can be estimated with can be used this line equation for those pumping wells that do not have piezometer and drilling log information
