Abstarct: In this research, folds and faults which located between the Astaneh and north Damghan Quaternary faults have been investigated, in the northwest of Damghan city and the margin of east Alborz. Cropped out Stratigraphical units in this are include Mesozoic rock units (Elika, Shemshak, Dilechay, Lar Formations) and Cenozoic rock Formation (Karaj, Ziarat, Neogene, Quaternary diposit). Igneous units the southern part of Astaneh village and northwest of Mansour Kouh, basaltic and gabbroic, inrespectively. folds are Investigated, in Shemshak Formation (FO1 syncline and South Peshar syncline) and in the Neogenes (Southern Mansur syncline). baxsed on interlimbs angle of fold , most of the fold ,have taken place in open folds in the south of Mansurkuh and Pishsar syncline and in the FO1 syncline are Gentle folds, Also baxsed on the dip of axial plane and plunge of hinge line, FO1 syncline steeply inclined and South Pishsar syncline upright horizontal and in the Southern Mansurkuh syncline is upright horizontal are classificated. survey of situation of folding in this area demostrate that general trend of folding is NE-SW which is the same trend of main faults in the area. Major faults (Astaneh, north Damghan Quaternary, Mansur Kuh) and Minor Fault such as north west Mansurkuh Fault,Pishsar and south Pishsar Fault ,are have trend NE-SW ,and faults with left lateral strike slip mechanism with reverse component and reverse faults with strike-slip compone. Also, north Ahvanu, Mehrnegar, F1, F2, faults have NW-SE trend and normal with right lateral strike slip mechanis. The existence of three fractures groups related of folding on the interlimb southwest of Mansur Kouh syncline observated, that the most fractures of the type of fractures are oblique. Signs of quaternary and Neotectonics activities such as the displacement of the rivers (along the Astana fault and the Quaternary fault of northern Damghan), the cut off and displacement of the fans (along the Astaneh fault and Quaternary fault of northern Damghan), fracture of travertine units and folding Neogene units have been studied.
