Abstarct: The study area is located in south of Amol city as a part of the northern slopes of Central Alborz. Starattigraphy studies of the area illustrates subsequences of Paleozoic and Mesozoic with NW-SE straight. The area is located at north Alborz fault zone Frome tectonic point of view. Also there is other main faults in this area same as Chelave and Mangel Faults. The main faults of the have been determined as revese faults with trend NW-SE to E-W and high slope angle. Folding association with fault has been found in Chelave area, which is a sign of NAF crossing area. In the area strick slip minor fault, normal, revers have been seen in NW-SE, E-W, NE-SW and NNW-SSE. Fractures analysis have been done in 9 stations And finally fractures associated with NAF have been evaluated. NE-SW trend was determined as dominated trend of fractures. Four main fracture sets with shear and tensile gensis can be detected. A- Fractures sets with (N76˚W/51˚NE) trend, B- Fractures sets with (N57˚E/75˚SE) trend, C- Fractures with (N15˚E/68˚SE) trend D- Fractures with (N30˚W/42˚SW). Fracture density characterestics were using linear scan line at 11 stations. baxsed on the result, fracture density around NAF is in the ffold hing line area fracture density is measured about 8.75% fracture density around Chelave Fault was achived about 10.9%. For assessment from the fold limbs were done and the position of the fold axis was determind about 07˚ /294˚. A comparision between the measured joins from each formation was done. baxsed on the obtained results the most fracture density was determind in Elika Formation. Finaly, it was found that beside tectonic elements effect, litology can be affected fracture density. baxsed on the geometry of the joints, the J3 and J4 can play a main role in water seepage from the underconstruction Haraz dam.
