Abstarct: Avaj city is one of the cities of Qazvin Province and is located south of this province. The city of Avaj is located along the longitude 49˚ 23' east and 35˚ 34' north latitude. The city of Avaj is located 125 km from Qazvin and 115 km from Hamedan in a completely mountainous region. In this study seismic data and the faults of region was studied in a radius of 100 kilometers. According to field studies, the general direction of fault in the study area is Northwest - Southeast, which follows the general trends of the Sanandaj - Sirjan zone and the abgarm zone. Hassan Abad fault with a length of 52 km along the northwest - southeast and slope to southwest, and the reverse mechanism with small right-lateral strike-slip components. The Avaj fault with a length of 166/6 kilometers is northwest-southeast, clearly visible in satellite imagery in the northwest and southeast of Avaj city. This fault caused the differences between the Sanandaj-Sirjan zone and the central part of Central Iran during the late Triassic orogeny. The north Abgarm fault has been investigated for the first time in this dissertation. This fault has N60E trend that has been observed in the northern Abgarm town. Using seismic data, the seismicity formula of the Awaj region was obtained by Gothenburg-Richter method (LogN = 2 / 27-0 / 9Ms), which has a = 27.2 and b = 0.9, seismic parameters of the region have been obtained. The maximum horizontal acceleration on the Awaj city (PGA = 0 / 83g) is due to the activity of the Awaj fault with a seismicity of 7.3 magnitude, located 219 meters from Awaj City. Many of the major earthquakes occurring in the Avaj region are in direct connection with the active faults of the region.
