Abstarct: Zard Kuh Iron deposite is located in Khorasan Razavi province, 50 Km NW of the Bardaskan city and 31 Km NE of Darouneh Village. This Iron deposite is belonge to north part of central Iran structural zone and Sw of Taknar zone. The oldest Outcropped unit in region is Taknar mextamorphosed pyroclastic formation with the percambrian age. which is located with fault border in both sides of Lower Devonian age Padeha chemical-destruction formation. Padha formation include limestone, sandstone, Shale and dolomite lime. Ore deposite are formed in the form of laxyers and lenses with limited lateral distribution, concordant and Padeha formation. baxsed on mineralography and petrography observations, hematite, goethite , limonite and with a minor amount magnetite are major minerals, pyrite and possible gold grains are minor minerals. Barite, quartz, calcite, ankerite, dolomite, muscovite and gypsum are gangue minerals. Most important Structures of ore deposite includes: laxyers, lenses and vein-veinlets. Most textures of ore forming deposite are: laminated, dispersed, marginal, replacement, bladed, open spase filling and chloroform. Common obserred or deduced alterations are silicification, carbonatization, dolomitization and iron oxides (hematitization and limonitization) and sulfatization. Evalution of the samples by ARS method indicate that major part of rock forming minerals of carbonate minerals is calcite. Geochemical studies baxsed on the ratio of SiO2 / Al2O3, V / Co , Ni / Zn, changes Cu, Co and Ni to changes in Mn and Fe and variations of REEs such enrichment of LREE / HREE and positive EU anomaly. All of them, confirm a hydrothermal origin for Iron ore mineralization. In Zard Kuh Iron deposite Al, Mo, Ni, P, V, Co, Ti and Cr represent different behavior with Iron. With increasing of Fe, the mentioned elements show decreasing. In the other hand, some elements such as Mn, Sr, Mg, As, Cu and Ba have similar behavior with Fe, the fact indicate that they have the same origin. Therefore, with attention to laxyer structure, concordant with host rock, non- following from fault structures,Structure and texture and hydrothermal origin, is it possible to say Zard Kuh iron deposit have Exhalative- sedimentary.
