Abstarct: Municipal solid waste and the increasing human society is one of the problems. Mismanagement that causes environmental pollution and threaten human health and ecological systems. One of the pillars of sustainable urban development is the lack of contamination by waste. This would will be realized with the waste management. Locate the perfect place waste landfill in principled, the final stages of waste management hierarchy is important. The socio-economic criteria, geology, and environmental depends. The present study aims to evaluate current state of waste management and solid waste disposal site selection Kangavar city using geographic information system (GIS) and Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) has been made. In contribute to fulfilling the aim of this study different factors and criteria Such as lithology, soil texture, soil erodibility, hydrology and hydrogeology, distance from urban areas, away from the road, rainfall, prevailing wind, seismic, faults, topography, slope and land use are examined according to the study area was. All information laxyers criteria and rankings were developed using software Arc gis. Then weighting the data laxyers of Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) was used. By integrating and combining the results of Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) and Geographic Information System (GIS) area in terms of susceptibility to waste landfill in into four groups (suitable, a relatively suitable, a relatively improper and unsuitable) was zoning. Among the regions, 15 zones were identified as suitable for landfill. Then consider some of the main parameters of geological, environmental, and socioeconomic and field inspection, selected areas were evaluated.Of the three zones was selected regions. Finally zone 14 with geographical coordinates 48 degrees 37 minutes eastern longitudes and 34 degrees 25 minutes north latitude and elevation of 1150 meters from sea level and has an area of 12.03 km² was selected as the best location. This zone is about 16 kilometers south of the city Kangavar and 1 km of the road has been Kangavar – Nahavand. This area of the zones of clay, silt, shale and marl formed. The vegetation is a relatively poor. The absence wells and springs and active fault in the region to caused its choice
