Abstarct: The studied area is located at 160 Km South of Mashhad and at N-W of Torbat-e-heidarieh between 58 52´ to 59 12´ eastern longitude and 35 16´ to 35 26´ northern latitude. In according to the structure geological divisions of Iran, this area is apart of central Iran and is located in Taknar zone. In this study is assessed Petrology and geochemistry of Pliocene volcanic rocks of the Bayge area which is know as the last phase of volcanic activity of Taknar zone. With attention to petrography, geochemistry and field study, the rocks have mostly Pyroxene andesite composition which overlain with columnar structures on the Eocene pyroclastic units of area. The morphological assessment of columns in the area implies the existence of diversity of columnar shapes aspect of thickness, height, number face and also the existence of surface phenomena such as being wavy and Stria on joint surface. Petrography studies of these rocks implies on absent hydrous minerals and existence of plagioclases with intermediate composition and clinopyroxene (augite) as dominate minerals. The existence sieve textures with vary shapes in plagioclases is insignificant feature texture in these rocks which can be caused decompresstion or maga mingling and magma assimilation. The studied samples are calc alkaline of medium pottasic and geochemical trends are not observed because of limited spectrum compositional and partial difference of major element and frequent rare element. Trace elements spider diagrams of area samples which normalized relate to Primitive mantle, MORB and Chondrite show special pattern in trace element distribution. In this pattern, negative anomaly of elements such as Ti, Nb and Ta and positive anomaly Rb,Cs,Ba,Sr are observed which are in accordance with subduction and crustal assimilation procceses. The samples from studied area in tectono magmatic diagrams also show the regions of continental active margin. In assessement of tectono magmatic pattern of area with attention existence Ophiolite melange in Doroune fault edge and similarity of this sets with arc environments, subduction can be considered as the major magmatism factor in the area and in the subduction frxamework with attention to the geochemical features of these rocks such as negative anomaly of Cr, Ni and absent of hydrous minerals the Eclogite can be pointed as a probable protolithe.
