Abstarct: In this study S,S'-bis(2-Amino thiophenoxy)-2,6-pyridine dicarboxylate ethane ligand (L1) was prepared in methanol from the intraction of dipicolinic acid with 2-Aminothiophenol in the presense of 1,2-dibromoethan, then complexes of Mn(II), Fe(III), Co(III), Ni(II), Cu(II), and Zn(II) with L1 in methanol have been synthesized. Also the N,N'-bis(2-thiophenol)-2,6-pyridine dicarboxamide (L2) was prepared in methanol from the raction of dipicolinic acid with 2-Aminothiophenol, then complexes of Mn(II), Fe(III), Co(III), Ni(II), Cu(II), and Zn(II) with L1 in methanol have been synthesized and characterization of these ligands and complexes have been carry out by elemental analysis, conductivity measurements, IR, 1HNMR, 13CNMR, UV-VIS and Mass spectroscopy. These ligands as tetra and penta dentate with their atoms (N, O, S) coordinate to the transition mextal ions and form stable and varying stracture.
