QD469 : Synthesis of new derivatives of spiropyran using click reaction

Abstarct: New spiropyran derivatives with photochromic properties were synthesized through the click reaction between terminal alkynes and aromatic and aliphatic azides. Various spiropyran derivatives were synthesized by the reaction of alkyne ended spiropyran deravatives with the aromatic and aliphatic azides through a dipolar 1,3 click reaction using Cu (I) as the catalyst and sodium ascorbate as the reductant in ethanol in room temperature with high yields (78% to 93%).These reactions led to the synthesis of 1,2,3-triazole derivatives lixnked to the photochromic system of spiropyran.The final products were purified by washing in ethanol. The prepared compounds were characterized using 13CNMR,. 1HNMR and FT-IR analysis.
