QD459 : Preparation and characterization of MIL-88(Fe) supported on polysilsesquieoxane and investigation of its photocatalytic application

Abstarct: In this research MIL-88 (Fe) mextal-organic frxamework (MOF) was prepared from Fe(NO3)3.9H2O and terephthalic acid precursors and anchored on poly-amino-methyl-silsesqueoxane (PAMSQ). Then, chemical and structural properties of the prepared composite was characterized by use of X-ray diffraction (XRD) pattern, scanning electron microscopy (SEM), diffuse reflectance UV-Vis spectroscopy (UV-Vis DRS) and X-ray photo-electron spectroscopy (XPS). The results confirmed homogenous anchoring of the MIL-88 (Fe) on to the surface of PAMSQ. Then, the photo-catalytic application of the prepared composite PAMSQ@MIL-88-(Fe) was investigated in degradation of methylene-blue (MB) and crystal violet (CV) organic pollutants under irradiation of UVC light (20W). Investigation of the effective parameters such as pH, initial dye concentration and photo-catalyst dosage by one at a time and responsive surface methods, revealed that this composite have the potential of near complete degradation of these organic dye pollutants in optimum conditions.
