Abstarct: N-cyclohexylimidazo[1,2-a]pyridin-3-amine derivatives were synthesized in moderate to high yields in one-pot three component reaction from the corresponding aldehydes, cyclohexyl isocyanide compounds and 2-amino pyridine, in the presence of catalytic solid acid as a non-toxic, inexpensive and easily available reagent, under solvent-free conditions at 110˚C. Compared to the classical Passerini reaction, this new method consistently has the advantage of good yields.
