Abstarct: 3-(cyclohexylamino)-7-hydroxy-2-phenylimidazo[1,2-c]pyrimidin-5(6H)-one derivatives were synthesized in moderate to high yields in one-pot three component reaction from the corresponding aldehydes, cyclohexyl isocyanide compounds and 4-amino uracil, in the presence of catalytic solid acid as a non-toxic, inexpensive and easily available reagent, under solvent-free conditions at 50˚C. Compared to the classical Passerini reaction, this new method consistently has the advantage of good yields.
