QD112 : Synthesis of new derivatives of Pyridine using Palladium as catalyst

Abstarct: In this work a facile synthesis of new derivatives of pyrrolo[2,3-b] pyridine ( 70 a-d ) through palladium-catalyzed heteroannulation is reported. Treatment of 2-chloro3-nitro pyridine (67 ) with propargyl amine in acetonitirile at room Temperature, affords 2-propargyl amino3-nitro pyridine ( 68 ) in good yield. In The following step the compound ( 68 ) in DMF was reacted with aryl iodides and triethylamine in the presence of bis(triphenylphosphine) palladium chloride(ll) and cuprous iodide at 75ºC,3-substiuted-3H- pyrrolo [2,3-b]pyridines ( 70a -d) were obtained in high yields. The reactions were carried out under an argon atmosphere, and the DMF and triethylamine Mixture was degassed prior to use.
