Abstarct: Abstract In this thesis, the physical properties of CuO and ZnO nanostructured laxyers and ZnO/CuO heterojunction photodetectors under ultraviolet (UV) and visible (Vis) light irradiation in self-powered conditions were investigated. In this research, the prepared samples were characterized by various methods, including the field emission scanning electron microscope (FESEM), X-ray diffraction (XRD), Raman spectroscopy, UV-Vis optical spectroscopy (UV-Vis), photoluminescence (PL) spectroscopy, Hall effect, current-voltage (I-V), and current-time (I-t) measurements. Here, the ZnO laxyers were coated by sputtering and spray pyrolysis methods with different deposition times and substrate temperatures, respectively, and in continuation, the photoconductivity properties of the laxyers were investigated. It was found that the sample synthesized by the sputtering method in 30 min and the sample prepared by the spray pyrolysis method at 300°C had the highest photoresponse to UV light. The CuO laxyers were synthesized by three methods: thermal oxidation, hot water vapor treatment, and sputtering. Through this study, we also investigated the photoconductivity properties of the laxyers of the visible (blue, green, and red) LED lights. Finally, ZnO/CuO junction properties were investigated in the dark and under UV-Vis. light irradiation in self-powered conditions. From the comparison of the synthesized devices, it is found that the TCZ-450 sample, in which the zinc oxide laxyer is synthesized by the spray pyrolysis method at 450 °C and the copper oxide laxyer is synthesized by the thermal oxidation method, provides the highest photoresponse ratio of 460.
