PE79 : SHAD Application in ELT in Iranian High Schools: A Retrospective Study

After the beginning of the Coronavirus pandemic and the start of virtual education activities in schools, studying the SHAD program as the only native and official program in Iran and the effect of SHAD software on teachers and students of English language courses was inevitable In this study, a mixed method was used to collect data from teachers and students in Iran. Beside interviewing the teachers, a questionnaire was designed and given to the teachers and students of some cities of the country to collect our information for review. The categories identified in the interviews were strengths and weaknesses of SHAD with the subcategories of SHAD features, effects on learning, effects of teaching, etc. and the categories included in the questionnaire were SHAD functionality, main skills, subskills, assessment, and so on. Finally, we concluded that students who have not had the experience of virtual language learning before are considered to have a good experience by using SHAD. Also, teachers who did not have the experience of virtual education and the use of modern methods of teaching English online have been updated and familiarized with all these methods so that they can use these methods in their education even after the Corona era.
